The partners at DSTech Solutions have a passion for contributing positively to the world and to giving back. Here are a few of the causes and organizations we serve:
Medical Benevolence Foundation (MBF)Since 1963, MBF has worked to provide hope and healing to those most in need. MBF supports healing ministries in more than 100 hospitals and clinics in developing nations throughout the world. Their work includes funding to treat the sick and cure disease, shipment of medical supplies, supporting medical mission workers, and long term community development in impoverished areas. Their causes include indigenous health care training, HIV/AIDS, Women & children's health, and more. The partners at DSTech Solutions have provided technical services, marketing services, website, and data security for several years - including creation of custom software tools for operation of the organization. www.mbfoundation.org
HDM was formed in 1979 by Dr. Alan Stewart and many volunteers. One of HDM's main tasks is to provide meals for people who elderly or just out of the hospital and have no way to get meals. Those served by this program are in true need; some would go hungry without this assistance. All HDM drivers and other workers are volunteers. In a single year HDM has delivered almost 12,000 hot noon meals, including Christmas and Thanksgiving. The program is funded through private donations only, with one financial appeal each year. The partners at DSTech Solutions have worked as drivers for HDM and will be donating production of a website for the organization.
The Brazoria County Dream Center is a non-profit community outreach center dedicated to helping families and individuals who are experiencing hardships by rebuilding hope, renewing lives, and restoring dreams. The partners at DSTech Solutions partners have packed backpacks for the center's Backpack Buddies program and providing other services. This program provides backpacks with nutritional food and snacks to children who might otherwise not have adequate food over the weekend. Children are identified by their teachers, school counselors, or nurse. www.bcdreamcenter.org
Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self. The partners at DSTech Solutions have participated in a dictionary handout program and are in the process of becoming more involved with the Rotary Club's good works. www.rotary.org
Kiva's mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva empowers individuals to lend to an entrepreneur across the globe. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva is creating a global community of people connected through lending. Kiva was born of the following beliefs: people are by nature generous and will help others if given the opportunity, the poor are highly motivated and can be very successful when given an opportunity, and by connecting people we can create relationships beyond financial transactions, and build a global community expressing support and encouragement of one another.
